Chicken Shawarma Pita Pockets

Ingredients
Morning Ingredients:
  • 1 T Olive oil
  • 2 lbs Boneless skinless chicken thighs
Evening Ingredients:
  • 2 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Allspice
  • ¼ tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Cayenne
  • 1 Cucumber
  • ½ cup Cherry tomatoes
  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Green onion
  • Yogurt salad dressing
  • Pita bread
Directions
In the Morning:
  1. Place chicken in crock pot and cover with oil.
  2. Turn on low for 6-9 hours.
In the Evening:
  1. Place chicken on cutting board to cool some.
  2. Combine all 7 seasonings in a bowl.
  3. Discard undesired fat on chicken and shred.
  4. Sprinkle chicken with seasoning.*

  5. Peel and slice cucumber into thin slices.
  6. Dice tomatoes and avocado.
  7. Cut pita bread in half.
  8. Place all on table and everyone stuffs their pita pocket as desired.
Recipe Notes

*It may seem like a lot of seasoning, but the flavor dilutes when you add the cucumbers and pita.
